Myrna is Associate Professor in Classics and Religious Studies and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Executive Director of the Cutler Scholars Program at Ohio University. She is a historian of evolutionary theory, a feminist and critical-race theorist and a scholar of religion. She earned her PhD from the History of Science Department at Harvard University, previously held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality at Rice University and was a Research Fellow at the Darwin Correspondence Project at Cambridge University and at the Harvard Divinity School.
Myrna is co-editor of Critical Approaches to Science and Religion (Columbia University Press, 2023) and author of Criticizing Science: Stephen Jay Gould and the Struggle for American Democracy, forthcoming in the Global Studies in Medicine, Science, Race and Colonialism Series at Johns Hopkins University Press.
She appears in the recent American Academy for the Advancement of Science documentary “Science as Mastery: A Story of Race and Power.” Her “History of Science, Sexuality and Medicine” lecture series is available on Audible and Apple Books.
